Perfectly located in Reykjavík’s city centre

Island apartments have a prime location on Hverfisgata in the old city centre of Reykjavik, a short walking distance from all the main attractions in Reykjavik. We are in the same building as upmarket restaurant Austur-Indíafjélagið, the northernmost Indian restaurant in the world and one of our favourite restaurants in Reykjavik.

The city´s best restaurants, bars and clubs are all only a few minutes walk away. Other nearby attractions include main shopping street Laugavegur, museums, galleries, Althingi and many other interesting places. Here are some of our favorites:

Hallgrímskirkja

Standing on Skólavörðuholt and one of the city´s best known landmarks, Hallgrímskirkja is the largest church in Iceland towering 73 meters (244ft) in the air. Named after the Icelandic poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614-1674). The church took 38 years to build, construction began in 1945 and ended in 1986.
